Matthew McDowell is a Reno, Nevada native and grew up creating art. His influences range from everything from cartoons to graffiti and realism to complete abstraction. Although he uses a variety of mediums in his work, he chooses to work mainly in spraypaint and acrylics. Matthew's work walks the line of deep philosophical thought and playful, tongue-in-cheek absurdity which stems from his interests in theology and philosophy. His works are very illustrative and speak in a unique language to the viewer. Saturated with deep colors and bold imagery, the work shines from the canvas and envelops its surroundings.
